Parish School of Religion

Parish School of Religion (PSR) is intended for those students in grades preschool through eighth who do not attend Catholic schools. PSR helps our young people build a foundation of faith that integrates catechetical and curriculum-based learning with service and experiential opportunities to increase their knowledge of the Church and its teachings and to grow in their relationship with Christ.  Students follow Diocesan-approved curriculum, which includes a 2-year sacramental preparation for students in 1st and 2nd grade (First Communion and First Reconciliation) and 7th and 8th grade (Confirmation).

The United States Catholic bishops have established principles that serve as the foundation from which Catholic education flows. Our program is committed to pursuing the following goals:

  • Communicating the Gospel message of Jesus
  • Building and modeling a community of faith
  • Orienting students to the need and experience of service
  • Providing students with increased prayer development

Our program is coordinated through the Religious Education Department. Teachers who volunteer have a calling to pass their love of our faith on to students.
