Liturgical Ministries


Liturgical Ministries are groups that help us celebrate Mass and receive the sacraments of our faith.  If you have questions or are interested in participating in any of these service ministries, please contact the coordinator.  Thank  you!

Altar Linens
This ministry launders towels and small altar linens.  This is a monthly commitment, a couple of times per year.

Altar Servers
Altar servers assist the clergy in the celebration of Mass.  Servers must be in at least fifth grade to participate.

Art & Environment
This committee Is dedicated to enhancing the worship space during the cycles and seasons of the liturgical year, to create an atmosphere conducive to prayer.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
These ministers assist the clergy in the distribution of Holy Communion at liturgical celebrations, as well as to the homebound and hospitalized.  Training is provided twice a year; in the fall and during the season of Lent.

Greeters for Mass
This ministry is open to all members of the parish and involves warmly greeting people who are entering the building for Mass.

Lectors
Lectors assist by proclaiming the scriptures at Mass and other liturgical celebrations.  Any parishioner of high school age or older is eligible to participate.  Training is provided.

Liturgy Committee
This group works with the clergy and liturgical ministries to prepare the liturgical prayer of the church during the seasons and cycles of the liturgical year.

Ministry to the Sick, Homebound and Hospitalized
These ministers serve the needs of those unable to attend Mass during illness or infirmity by providing a spiritual and physical connection to those unable to take part in our parish life.  Training is provided.

Petition Writers
With prayerful reflection on the Sunday Scriptures, petitions which are prayed during Mass are written.  This is a monthly commitment.  Training and resource materials provided.

Sacristans
Sacristans prepare the worship space for liturgical celebrations.  Working with the clergy and other ministries, they assure the readiness of the worship space for each celebration.

Ushers
Ushers are hosts and hostesses to warmly welcome the people of God to each liturgical celebration.  They are also responsible for seating people, collecting offerings, directing communion lines and distributing bulletins.
