Biography for Rev. Mr. James Rouse, Deacon


Deacon Jim Rouse serves the Church as one our permanent deacons and as Assistant Chancellor of the Catholic Diocese of Columbus.  A native of Newport, Kentucky, Deacon Jim graduated from Newport Public High School.  He holds a bachelor's degree in aeronautical engineering from the University of Cincinnati and a master's degree in aero-engineering from the Ohio State University.  Jim is now retired from the mechanical and aero engineering industry but still does some part-time consulting.

Deacon Jim was ordained February 1, 1997, by Bishop James A. Griffin at St. Joseph Cathedral, Columbus.  He served as a deacon at St. Peter Parish, Columbus, for several months, then accepted his current assignment at St. Joan of Arc in December, 1997.

Jim and his wife Rose live in Hilliard.  They have three children and six grandchildren.  In his spare time, Jim enjoys golfing and Mustang cars.
