Biography for Rev. Raymond Larussa, Pastor


Fr. Raymond Larussa was born in Cleveland, Ohio on August 29, 1948.  He moved to the west side of Columbus in 1958.  He attended St. Aloysius School on West Broad Street, St. Charles High School and the St. Charles Minor Seminary for three years, and Ohio State University.  For theology school he attended Mt. St. Mary's Seminary in Norwood, Ohio.

Fr. Larussa was ordained a priest on June 2, 1974 by Bishop Edward Hermann.  He was an assistant pastor as Christ the King Church and St. Mary Magdalene.  He became pastor of St. Mary Church in Waverly, Ohio, for 3 1/2 years.  He was pastor for 12 years at both St. Cecilia Church on the far west side of Franklin County and Holy Spirit Church in Whitehall.  In July, 2009, he became pastor of St. Joan of Arc Church.

Fr. Larussa enjoys cooking and travel.  He has run in over 100 races, including 23 marathons.

He has two younger sisters , Linda and Rita, who live in Columbus.  He has three nieces, one great niece and two great nephews.
